Prior to dog training: Velma studied ‘human’ psychotherapy with the National Council Of Psychotherpists, London for two years and worked as a private “human” psychotherapist and counsellor for 15 years specialising in motivational skills, fears and phobias and behaviour modification.

Velma wrote and gave educational training courses and workshops for driving instructors; sales teams; private and corporate groups in motivation, behaviour modification, self-confidence, personal and business goal setting and achieving and relaxation for 15 years.

Dogs:

Animal Science Certificate, Sydney Technical College studying for two years, part-time, graduating in 1998. Studying:-

• Dog grooming since 1988.
• Dog boarding since 1995.
• Professional dog training since 1998. Non professional dog training ‘all her life!”
• Phone and email helpline and consultations for dog behaviour problems since 1999.
• Assisting dog foster people and new owners of shelter and foster dogs with behavioural issues since 1999.
• Training volunteers, health professionals and pets (dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats) for Pets As Therapy since 1999.
• Writing and giving workshops to train people as pet dog obedience trainers since 1999.
• Classes in management for nuisance barking and on-lead aggression since 2005.
